About this tool

A training log that opens instantly and works with no signal, because everything is stored in your own browser rather than on a server. Add an exercise from a library of 876, and the weights and reps you used last time are filled in for you — so a set is usually two taps, not a form. It tracks your sets, your weekly volume, and your session history, and shows step-by-step instructions for any exercise you're not sure about. There is no account, no sync, and nothing to upload: your training history never leaves your device, which also means you should export a backup now and then, since clearing your browser data would clear it too. Install it to your home screen and it behaves like any other app, including in a basement gym with no bars of signal.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account?

No. There's no sign-up and no login. Your workouts are saved in your own browser's storage and are never sent to us or anyone else.

Does it work without internet?

Yes, once you've opened it once. Install it to your home screen and it loads and saves offline — which is the point, since most gyms have no signal. The exercise library is cached on first use.

Where is my data, and can I lose it?

It's in this browser on this device, and nowhere else. That means it's private, but also that clearing your site data, uninstalling the browser, or switching phones will lose it. Use the Export button to save a JSON copy, and Import to restore it.

Can I use pounds instead of kilos?

Yes — there's a kg/lb switch next to the Add exercise button. It only changes the label; the numbers you type are stored as-is, so don't switch units mid-way through a training block.

Where do the exercises come from?

From the Free Exercise DB, an open dataset released into the public domain under the Unlicense. We bundle the names, muscles, equipment and instructions. We don't use its photos.
